
Praytor Named to SEC Community Service Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama senior softball player Jordan Praytor was named to the Southeastern Conference's Community Service team the league office announced on Friday.
Praytor, a double major in biology and Spanish, will graduate in the fall. She is a finalist for the Lowes's Senior CLASS Award, a member of Blue Key Society, XXXI, the Anderson Society, and the University Honors Program. She is also a member of the SEC Honor Roll, the recipient of the Woodrow Alvin Davis Family Student-Athlete Award and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Praytor's community service has been felt throughout the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham area. She helped host the Halloween Extravaganza, an event which gives kids in the community a safe Halloween and was heavily involved in Project Angel Tree, collecting of donations and shopping of presents for kids who have a parent incarcerated.
The Vancouver, Wash. native also helped promote the importance of physical exercise and nutrition to kids through the Gatorade Get 60 program. Praytor has helped develop a relationship between the Alabama softball team and the HEAR Center at the Birmingham Children's Hospital. She has collected canned food for the West Alabama Food Bank and read at University Place Elementary School for "Read Across America". She also served food at the Kiwanis Club Pancakce Day and visits with residents at Capstone Village.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
