
Women?s Golf Remains in the Hunt After Round Two

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico ?? The Alabama women's golf team remains in the hunt for the title after the conclusion of day two with a second round score of 297 to sit in fourth place with a total two-round score of 590 (+14). Kent State leads the Puerto Rico Classic after two rounds with a score of 586 (+10) at the Coco Beach Golf Club.
Junior Kathleen Ekey continues to be the Tide's top scorer with a second round of one-over-par 73. Ekey sits in eighth place overall with a two-round score of one-over 143.
Sophomore Rhea Nair followed with a second round score of three-over-par 75. For the two rounds, Nair posts a four-over-par 148 to sit in a tie for 13th.
Senior Sarah Sturm improved her play in the second round with a score of one-over-par 73. Sturm moved into a tie for 19th with a two-round total of five-over-149.
Freshman Camilla Lennarth sits in a tie for 25th overall after a second round score of four-over-76. Lennarth posts a total score of six-over-150.
Sophomore Helena Blomberg turned in a second round score of five-over-77. After the conclusion of day two, Blomberg is tied for 34th with a score of seven-over-151.
The third and final round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic begins with a shotgun start tomorrow at 8 a.m. on the par-72 Coco Beach Golf Course.
