A veteran member of the Tide catching corps and the only returning catcher with any game experience entering this season ... took over as the starter last April and handled the job well during some adverse times ... did not commit an error in 139 chances last season ... a versatile member of Crimson Tide roster who can also play middle infield and corner outfield positions ... worked primarily as catcher in the fall, but could see action elsewhere ... had the best summer of any Tide player in 2007 while playing in Hawai’i for the Oahu Paddlers in the Hawaiian Collegiate Summer League.
CAREER POST-SEASON NOTES:
Has appeared in four career SEC Tournament games ... started two games at the 2007 SEC Tournament against Arkansas and Florida ... was hitless in five at-bats ... handled all seven chances behind the plate without an error ... played in two games at the 2006 SEC Tournament ... made his post-season debut against LSU on May 24, 2006.
SOPHOMORE (2007):
Appeared in 31 games overall, starting 22 games at three different positions, including catcher (20), left field (1) and second base (1) ... hit .200 (15-for-75) with two home runs, four RBI, nine runs scored and three doubles ... was errorless in 139 total chances ... played in 21 SEC games and made 16 starts, hitting .208 (11-for-53) with one home run and eight RBI against league competition ... started two games against Canisius at second base and left field ... posted three-game RBI streak from Feb. 16-18 ... went 1-for-2 with RBI double against Canisius on Feb. 16 and was 2-for-4 with one RBI as starting left fielder on Feb. 17 ... made first career start at catcher against Georgia (1-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) on April 14 ... slugged his second career home run against Samford on April 25 ... tied a UA single-game record with two sacrifice bunts in a win over 4th-ranked South Carolina on April 27 ... had a career-high, four-game hitting streak from April 22-28, hitting .400 (4-for-10, HR, 3 RBI) over that span ... turned in his best series at Florida on May 4-6, hitting .455 (5-for-11) with one home run and one RBI ... matched his career high with three hits at UF on May 5 ... recorded two hits and his first career SEC home run in the series finale against the Gators on May 6 ... matched his SEC season-high with two RBI in a 9-5 win over Arkansas on May 13.
FRESHMAN (2006):
Appeared in 18 games with 10 starts ... hit .212 (7-for-33) with one home run and eight RBI ... saw limited action in SEC play, going 2-for-5 (.400) with three RBI in two games ... earned his first career start against Samford on Feb. 14 ... went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in his UA debut ... went 3-for-5 with three RBI in a doubleheader sweep of No. 1 South Carolina on April 9 ... played in the summer of 2006 for Youse’s (Md.) Orioles in the Cal Ripken Summer Collegiate League ... appeared in 27 games and hit .205 (15-for-73) with one home run and six RBI ... helped the Orioles to the 2006 AAABA World Championship in Johnstown, Pa., the team’s third straight AAABA championship ... played on the same team as Crimson Tide teammates Vin DiFazio and Ryan Rhoden.

Moore was redshirted during the 2005 season.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2004 graduate of Edgewood Academy ... a three-year letterman for Coach Bobby Carr ... a member of back-to-back AISA state championship teams in 2002 and 2003 ... was named to the AISA All-Tournament team following his sophomore and junior seasons ... hit .501 as a prep senior ... also played quarterback on the football team and threw for more than 2,800 yards and a state private school record 38 touchdowns as a senior.
PERSONAL:
Full name is Kyle Martin Moore ... son of Bill Moore Valarie Hawk ... has one brother, Matt ... father, Bill, was a track and field standout at Middle Tennessee State ... his brother, Matt, played baseball at Jacksonville State for legendary Coach Rudy Abbott, and later served as a manager for the Crimson Tide baseball team ... his uncle, Ronnie Welch, played baseball at Alabama for Coach Tilden “Happy” Campbell in 1955-56 ... Welch was a member of the Tide’s 1955 SEC Championship team and NCAA Regional participant.
