Fay, Neal Earn Weekly SEC Honors Following Sweep of Gators

The pair were awarded the Crimson Tide’s first weekly honors of the 2026 season
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama baseball's Tyler Fay was the named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week, while Brady Neal was awarded the conference's Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday. The distinctions stand as the first weekly honors for Alabama this season and both weekly honors for Fay and Neal represent the first such accolades of their respective collegiate careers.
Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Fay
- Recorded the ninth no-hitter in Alabama program history on March 20, leading the Tide to a 6-0 win in the series opener
- Created new career highs in innings pitched (9.0) and strikeouts (13) in his sixth start of the season, surrendering just two walks while retiring 27 of the 29 batters he faced
- Struck out at least one batter in seven of his nine innings on the mound, including multiple strikeouts in five of nine innings
- Became the first Tide pitcher since Eddie Owcar in 1942 to manage an individual 9.0-inning no-hitter and hitter while accomplishing Alabama's first no-hitter of any kind since 2014
- Laid the initial groundwork for Alabama to eventually cement its first sweep of Florida since 2002
Player of the Week
Brady Neal
- Played a crucial role in Alabama's three-game sweep of No. 18 Florida in Tuscaloosa, posting a .583 average (7-12) with one double, one home run, 11 RBI, 11 total bases, three walks and one stolen base
- Was 8-for-16 (.500) in four total games during the week in addition to managing at least one hit in all four games
- The Florida native extended his on-base streak to 16-consecutive games in Sunday's series finale, going 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, a career-high seven RBI and one walk while also scoring a run
- His grand slam in the 6th inning on Sunday helped the Tide build a five-run lead after trailing by four runs earlier in the game
- His efforts at the plate helped the Tide secure its first sweep of the Gators since 2002, all while succeeding in the first three starts in right field of his Alabama tenure
