| An All-America selection in 1931 and 1932,"Hurri" Cain was one of the great all-around players in Alabama football history. Considered by many experts to be the best punter ever at the Capstone, he was equally gifted running the football. He scored 26 touchdowns in just 24 varsity games. Cain had nine TDs in the first four games of the 1932 season when he suffered an injury which kept him out of three games. His 81-yard TD run against St.Mary's is considered one of the great individual efforts in Alabama history. Against Tennessee in 1932, he punted 19 times and averaged 48 yards per kick. He was voted a member of the all-time Alabama team in 1943 and then to the Team of the Century as a punter in 1992. |

| An All-America selection in 1982, Castille was also selected a member of the Tide's Team of the Century and The Team of the Decade of the 1980s. He had 16 career interceptions, which at the time, was the most in school history. He had three interceptions to win the MVP trophy in Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant's final game, a 21-15 win over Illinois in the Liberty Bowl. He went on to a stellar career in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Bucs and Denver Broncos. |

In 1992, Bama opponents averaged just 1.67 yards per rush during the season. He finished his career with 17.5 sacks and 19 stops behind the line. He played on teams that went 24-1. | A halfback/quarterback, Gilmer was a do-it-all player who earned All-America and SEC Player of the Year honors in 1945. He was also voted MVP after leading Bama to a 34-14 win over Southern Cal in the Rose Bowl. He accounted for 52 total touchdowns during his career, 19 rushing, 29 passing, two punt returns, one kickoff return and one interception return. He suffered just 22 career interceptions in 413 attempts. In 1946, he led the Tide in passing, rushing, interceptions, punt returns and kickoff returns. He was selected to the Tide's Team of the Century, as a defensive back. His best game was against Kentucky when he rushed six times for 216 yards and was two-of-two passing for 50 yards. Gilmer finished 5th in the Heisman Trophy balloting in both 1945 and 1947. |

He blocked a punt for a safety in the Tide's 21-0 win over LSU in 1966. Hall was selected National Lineman of the Week in 1968 for his play against Auburn when he had 16 tackles, intercepted two passes and switched over to offense to catch a touchdown pass from Scott Hunter. An All-America pick in 1985, Hand finished his career with 234 tackles to earn a spot on the Tide's all-decade team of the 1980s. In 1992, he was also selected to Alabama's Team of the Century. His senior season, Hand was named the Washington D.C. Pigskin Club's Defensive Player of the Year and then played in the East-West Shrine Game in 1986. Perhaps his best career game came against LSU in 1985 when he had six tackles, one stop behind the line for for four yards, one sack for seven yards, two pass break-ups, a blocked field goal and pressure on the Tigers' final field goal attempt of the game that failed. The game finished in a 14-14 tie. |

He scored two touchdowns to beat Georgia Tech, 14-0 in 1929, scoring on an 11-yard run and a 40-yard interception return. | A unanimous All-America selection in 1934, Howell is a member of the all-time Rose Bowl team and the College Football Hall of Fame. In an era when statistics were rarely kept, Howell was noted for rushing 15 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of a 26-6 win over Georgia in 1934. A gifted punter, he still owns the Tide record with his 89-yard punt versus Tennessee in 1933. In the Tide's 1935 Rose Bowl win over Stanford, Howell completed 9-of-12 passes for 160 yards, rushed for 111 more and averaged 43.8 yards on six punts. |

| Selected All-America in 1925, Hubert was the second Alabama player to be so honored. During his four-year Tide career, Alabama compiled a 31-6-2 ledger, including a 10-0 run in 1925 that ended with a Southern Conference and national championship. In the Tide's 20-19 Rose Bowl win over Washington, Hubert led an Alabama second-half comeback for the victory. He was a two-time All-Southern Conference pick. For his career, he scored 38 touchdowns. |

| Hupke holds the distinction of being All-Southern Conference in 1932 and then on the first All-SEC team in 1933. He earned All-America honors in 1933. He played on both sides of the football and was considered to play his finest game against Tennessee in 1933.In that 12-6 Bama win, Hupke was a one-man wrecking crew.When Tennessee drove to the Tide six-yard line, it was Hupke who stopped UT sensation Beattie Feathers for a pair of losses and then forced a bad pass on fourth down to secure victory and the Tide's first SEC title. |

| Hutson was a unanimous All-America selection in 1934 and then was a charter member of both the College and NFL Halls of Fame. He was selected to the all-time team for the first 50 years of Alabama football, and then in 1992, was elected to the Team of the Century. Hutson played in an era when college football statistics were not well maintained, but his performance in the 1935 Rose Bowl was indicative of his dominance. In that game, he caught six passes for 165 yards and scored on receptions of 59 and 54 yards in the Tide's 29-13 win over Stanford. He was twice named NFL Player of the Year and in 1989 was voted to the all-time college football team as selected by ESPN. Coach Frank Thomas called him "the greatest player I've ever seen." |

He also had 72 tackles, including four stops behind the line for 19 yards. He returned one of his interceptions 44 yards for a touchdown against Vanderbilt, a play which helped him earn SEC Player of the Week honors. Jackson was also an All-SEC selection.
