
WVUA Radio to Carry Crimson Tide Softball Games in 2007

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? WVUA-FM has announced that they will be providing home and away coverage for the University of Alabama Softball team for the seventh season in 2007.
Award winning sportscaster Nic Hoch will call balls and strikes along with other members of the WVUA sports team.
"We are extremely proud to provide exclusive coverage of Alabama softball on our airwaves," said Hoch. "To call action for one of the most successful softball programs in the country is something we consider to be a great honor." WVUA's coverage of the Tide softball team begins when Bama opens its season on February 9 th at the Texas State Tournament.
WVUA-FM is the student-run radio station on the campus of the University of Alabama and can be listened to by tuning in to 90.7 on the FM dial in the Tuscaloosa area. For those outside the listening area, a web feed can be accessed at *www.thecapstone.ua.edu*. In addition to Alabama softball, WVUA also provides exclusive coverage of Alabama gymnastics.
The Crimson Tide softball team captured its first Southeastern Conference title last season and finished with a 54-11 record. Alabama also made its fourth appearance in the Women's College World Series. Patrick Murphy is in his ninth season as the head coach for the Crimson Tide and will provide comment about each game along with selected players on WVUA’s broadcasts.
WVUA will begin its coverage next weekend when the Tide open its season at the Century-Tel Softball Classic in San Marcos, Texas. The tournament will also feature Oklahoma State and Texas-San Antonio, along with the host school Texas State University. Alabama will then return home for three straight tournaments starting with the Hampton Inn BAMA BASH! Feb. 16-18.
