TUSCALOOSA ?? Gator Todd’s three-under-par final round and fourth place overall finish help power the No. 1 ranked University of Alabama golf team to its fourth tournament championship??out of six tournaments played??on Tuesday. And for his effort in powering the Crimson Tide, the Florence native has been named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week.
Todd shot 75-73-69/217, one over par, to finish fourth at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational which was held Sunday through Tuesday at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, Fla. It was his fourth top 10 individual finish out of five tournaments played this season. The 2004 Coffee High School graduate has finished among the top 25 individuals in every tournament he’s played for the Tide this season and is the son of Richard and Lulu Todd. He has a 71.45 season stroke average and will return to action this weekend, February 25-27, when Alabama goes for what would be a school single season record fifth tournament championship at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grand, Puerto Rico.
