
Diving Starts SEC Championships Friday

The SEC Swimming and Diving Championships get under way in Lexington, Ky., today with the diving portion of the championships holding center stage.
Alabama will be sending a young contingent to the Bluegrass state, with only women’s senior Karissa Tuthill having competed at the championships before.
The Colorado Springs, Colo., native has scored off the platform during each of her three previous trips to SECs.
On the men’s side, rookie Aaron Fleshner comes into his first league championship leading the SEC off the three-meter board with a conference best score of 400.20 points against Auburn. His top three-meter score is more than 15 points better than second place on the conference list. He won the three-meter board in three of four dual meets this season to with his two one-meter wins. The Spring, Texas native is a threat to medal in all three diving events this weekend.
The men start competition with the one-meter board today while the women get things underway with the three-meter board. The women move to the one-meter Saturday while the men switch to the three-meter. On Sunday, both the men and the women go to the platform event. The swimming portion of the meet begins Wednesday.
