Alabama Captures Podium Finish on Opening Day of NCAA Championships

The Tide earned All-America honors in the 200 medley relay for the fifth consecutive year
ATLANTA – For the fifth straight year, Alabama earned All-America honors in the 200 medley relay as the Crimson Tide opened the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday.
The Tide's 200 medley relay contingent of Emily Jones, Charlotte Rosendale, Tessa Giele and Cadence Vincent posted a time of 1:33.81 to capture eighth place and earn a spot on the podium.
After the first day of events, the Crimson Tide is in 14th place with 22 points.

- Alabama earned All-America honors in the 200 medley relay for the fifth consecutive year and 25th overall time in program history
- Mackenzie Brandt recorded a career-best 16:09.43 to finish 18th in the mile
- She bettered her performance by over three seconds to win her heat
