
Bama Baseball Camps 2006

The University of Alabama baseball program will once again hold its annual summer camps, providing the best possible baseball instruction for players of all ages and abilities in a structured, enthusiastic and fun environment.
Alabama coaches and players will provide instruction, as well as some of the area's top Junior College and High School coaches.
Campers will receive specific, quality instruction on how to play the game and how to improve themselves on and off the field.
Five different camps are offered this year. Camp 1, which takes place from June 27 to June 30, is the Bama Baseball Day Camp. This camp, designed for younger players, will provide intense instruction on hitting, pitching, infield and outfield play, catching, baserunning, bunting, and more. The camp takes play from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day so the players will have time to make their games at night. Campers are to bring their own lunch and mini-coolers are recommended. The day camp is open to players entering 1st through 6th grade. Cost is $175.
Camp 2, the Middle School Camp, takes place from July 10 through July 13. The camp, which is open to players entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade, is an overnight camp that aims to prepare the players of playing at the next level. Instruction includes proper techniques of hitting, pitching, catching, infield, outfield, baserunning, and team defense. Games will also be played and supervised by the coaches. Overnight campers will stay in dorms provided by University Housing. The cost for overnight campers is $330. Commuter camper's day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $265. Lunch will be provided.
Camp 3, which runs from July 17 to July 20, is the High School Camp. This overnight camp is open to players entering 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. The camp will teach advanced skills and strategies of baseball to high potential high school players. Players will experience four days of drills, instruction, skill training and competition from a college level approach. Each player will be allowed to showcase his ability while competing against top level competition. Overnight campers cost is $405. Like Camp 2, the commuter's day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for commuters is $340. Lunch will be provided.

The next camps are for players who are very serious about playing baseball at the next level and would like to see what it is like to play for the Crimson Tide. Two "Super 40" camps will be held from July 24-27 and July 31-August 3. The camps, which will only accept 40 players to each session, are a great way for high school players to show their abilities to the UA Coaching staff. The camp takes place at Sewell-Thomas stadium and each camper will receive first class treatment having their laundry done each day by the UA clubhouse staff. Each camper will also have their own locker in the clubhouse, practice wearing official UA practice gear and play games in official Alabama baseball uniforms.
The Super 40 camps are open to 2007-2010 graduates. It is a first come-first served on a position by position basis. Cost of the Super 40 camps are $800, which includes a $300 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit which is required to hold your place in camp.
