2006 (Sophomore): Salaam played two snaps against Louisiana Monroe.

Prep: Salaam came to the Tide from Sparkman High School. He was selected to the All-Area team and was 6A Region eight honorable mention for the Huntsville Times his junior year. Salaam completed his high school career with 77 catches for 1,490 yards and 10 touchdowns. He started in all 31 games throughout his career. Salaam also won the Birmingham Southern Dunk Contest in 2002.

Personal: Darwin is the son of Darwin, Sr. and Valorita Salaam. He has four siblings, Jamilliah, Keisha, Robert Nolson and Dontae Salaam. Born 11-24-1985.
