Tide Softball Signee Named JUCO Athlete of the Year

Current Alabama softball signee Blair Potter was named this year’s Alabama Sports Writer’s Association Junior College Athlete of the Year.
Potter, a sophomore at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama finished the season with a 26-1 record and national best 0.173 ERA while setting a new school record with 364 strikeouts, besting her own record of 249 from the year before. In 200.0 innings pitched, she surrendered only five earned runs while issuing only eight walks.
During her career at Wallace she posted 35 shutouts and four perfect games.
Potter will join the Crimson Tide in the fall of 2005 and will become the first left-handed pitcher in Alabama softball history.
