Alabama head coach Jim Wells announced Tuesday night that sophomore left-hander Wade LeBlanc will start the Crimson Tide's Southeastern Conference Tournament opener against the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday, May 25.
Wells said he talked with LeBlanc on Tuesday and said that LeBlanc felt fine and could pitch on Wednesday night.
"Ole Miss is throwing their best guy (Mark Holliman), so we are matching up our No. 1 starter with their No. 1 starter in order to give is the best chance to win," Wells said.

Alabama answered with two in the bottom of the inning for the win. LeBlanc allowed one run and six hits, with one walk and eight strikeouts. He did not pitch against the Rebels in Oxford this season.
Holliman is 1-0 in two career starts against Alabama. He beat the Crimson Tide 11-1 last year in Tuscaloosa. He had a no decision in Oxford on April 8, 2005 in a game the Crimson Tide won 5-4.
