Fast Five Questions with Staci Ramsey

Tide infielder Staci Ramsey is making her mark on the Alabama softball program. The second team All-SEC member batted .295 last year along with 39 RBIs. The Houston, Texas native’s 2004 campaign included a seven game hitting streak which set career highs in her average, hits, doubles, homeruns, and RBIs. Staci was also a member of Bama’s 2003 squad that reached the College World Series. In 2003, Ramsey’s 10-game hitting streak landed her in Bama’s record book tying for the fifth longest hitting streak in school history. Ramsey is a junior and plans to graduate with a degree in General Health.
If not playing softball, what would be your ideal weekend?
“My ideal weekend would be going home and being with my family and spending time with them. I really miss my nieces and miss watching them grow up.”
While Spring Break is still fresh in everybody’s minds, if you could play a softball tournament during spring break anywhere in the world, where would it be?
“I would say Houston, back in Texas because I love Texas, and it would be great going back home and playing in front of friends and family.”
As a Houston Native, Rockets, Texans, or Astros’ Season Tickets?
“Astros, I am a big Astros fan. I love Roger Clemens, and I loved going to the games growing up.”
What is your favorite sports movie?
“My favorite sports movie is ‘For the Love of the Game’.” I love the part where he is pitching because it shows what it is like to be in a player’s shoes and what it takes to be a great player in the sport.”
What is your most memorable moment yet at Alabama?
“I would say playing in the World Series my freshman year. You grow up watching it on T.V., and then you finally get there and get your chance to play.... it is awesome.”
