TUNICA, Miss. – The University of Alabama women’s golf team will conclude their season this weekend at the Southeastern Conference Championship Tournament being hosted by Ole Miss at the Tunica National Golf & Tennis Club.
Tournament action begins Friday at 8:30 a.m. on the par 72, 7,210-yard layout at Tunica National. All 12 SEC teams will compete in the three-round event that features 18 holes of play each day.
The travel squad for the Crimson Tide competing in the SEC Championship includes seniors Megan George and Darby Sligh, juniors Carina Sorensen and Audrey Gale and freshman Emily Sykes.
The SEC Championship will not only mark the end of the Crimson Tide’s 2004-05 campaign, but also the end of head coach Betty Palmer’s 17-year career at the Capstone. Earlier this week, Palmer announced her plans to retire at the conclusion of this season.
