Alabama Divers Make Finals of the NCAA Zone B Championships

Alabama put two divers in the top-five and four in the finals of the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships held in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center this weekend.
Junior Aaron Ashworth and senior Stewart Smith took fourth and fifth respectively off the three-meter board, nearly guaranteeing themselves bids to the NCAA Championships. Ashworth scored 569.30 points to take fourth while Smith came away with 561.05 points and fifth. Sophomore Alan Harris was 23rd in preliminaries with 275.80 points.
On the women's side of the meet, junior Crystal Rasmussen took seventh off the one-meter with 543.70. She moved up seven spots from her preliminaries position of 14th. Sophomore Jenna Hastreiter was 19th with 312 points up from 24th in prelims. Sophomore Karissa Tuthill was 37th in prelims with 206.35 points.
The championships conclude Sunday with the platform diving event. The top 13 men and 11 women from Zone B will advance to the NCAA Championships.
