The University of Alabama softball program has long been a presence in the community and now they've created the Junior Herd Kids Club in an effort to get the youth more involved with the program.
"We were looking for more fan involvement and we've seen from camps and games there's been a large increase of younger kids," said Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy. "It's for boys and girls and it's an opportunity for them to be involved and get closer to the team."
The cost for membership is $15 and members will receive an official Junior Herd Kids Club membership card; an official club t-shirt; free admission to senior days with an opportunity to meet each senior on her special day and stand on the field during the National Anthem; an opportunity to win an autographed softball on each senior day and a chance to a Bama Batgirl or Batboy.
The club is for boys and girls ages 12 and under.
