TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama women's basketball team opens a three game home stand on Monday night when they play host to Florida International at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide, 8-3 on the year, is coming off an impressive 78-60 victory over Yale last Thursday at the Christmas City Classic in Bethlehem, Pa. Monday's game with FIU marks Bama's first of 2005 and is also the first of three games for UA over the next seven days.
Florida International (10-2) rides an eight-game win streak into their tilt with the Tide including a tournament championship at their own FIU/Fun & Sun Classic last week. FIU defeated Alabama 61-55 last season in a game played at Golden Panther Arena in Miami.
Following Monday's game with FIU, Alabama will have one day to prepare for its next game against South Dakota State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Tide then concludes its busy week with its Southeastern Conference opener versus Kentucky on Sunday.
The UA-FIU game is being broadcast on the radio on WACT 1420 AM "The Tusk" as well as over the internet at www.rolltide.com. Live statistics for the game are also available on the Bama athletic website: www.rolltide.com.
