2005 (Senior): Rudy was the starter at defensive tackle and finished with 258 snaps on the season. He had 16 tackles, three tackles behind the line for five yards and one fumble recovery. He had an interception against Mississippi State which he returned 17 yards for a touchdown He is a December graduate, one of 14 Tide players who earned that distinction by season’s end. He earned the Billy Neighbors Most Improved Defensive Lineman Award following spring practice.
2004 (Junior): What an amazing story! Following a redshirt season after transferring from The Citadel, Rudy came in to start 10 of the Tide’s 12 games. Rudy started 10 of the Tide's 12 games this season, playing 289 snaps. He closed the regular season with 17 tackles, including three behind the line for two yards and one fumble recovery, which he returned for 24 yards against South Carolina. He had five tackles against Tennessee and 1.5 tackles for loss against Auburn. Following a redshirt season in 2003, Rudy's play on the scout team and in spring practice earned him a scholarship for 2004.

2002 (Sophomore): A two-year starter at defensive end for the The Citadel. He started eight games as a sophomore.
2001 (Freshman): He started 10 games as a freshman.
Prep: A team captain for Hepzibah High School, Rudy won the Golden Helmet Award presented to the best athlete and highest GPA. He was also named an ESPN “Hometown Hero”.
Personal: The son of Rudy and Anita Griffin. Born 8-10-83. He is a Physical Education major.
