2005 (Freshman): A 12-game starter, Antoine played 772 snaps during the season and earned Rivals.com First-Team Freshman All-America honors. After starting the regular season at guard, he moved to the starting spot at center for the Tide’s 2006 AT&T Cotton Bowl game with Texas Tech. He also earned Rivals.com “Freshman of the Week” honors following the Tide’s 31-3 win over then fifth-ranked Florida. He and fellow redshirt freshman B.J. Stabler anchored the guard slots on the Tide’s young offensive line. Antoine had an excellent spring and earned the “Paul Crane Most Improved Offensive Lineman” award following spring practice.
2004 Redshirted: A broken foot sustained early in fall camp forced Caldwell into a redshirt season.
Prep: One of four offensive linemen signed by the Tide in 2004, Caldwell graded 85 percent blocking efficiency as a junior at Lee-Montgomery and only gave up one sack the entire year. He is known for his exceptional quickness and foot speed which makes him an excellent pass-blocker. He was a first-team All-State selection his senior year and was ranked the No. 10 player in Alabama by SuperPrep magazine.
Personal: Son of Priscilla and Mack Caldwell. He has an older brother, Arsenio and a twin brother, Anthony. Born 4-19-86. He is a General Studies major.
