2005 Second-Team All-SEC (AP)
2006 (Junior): Hall led the team in receiving with 57 catches for 1014 yards and five touchdowns. His 57 catches are third on the single season list and his 1014 yards set a new single season record at Alabama. He moved up to third all-time with 122 receptions and second with 1,876 yards. He is also tied for sixth with 11 career touchdown catches. He led the team in catches seven times and in receiving yards eight times out of the 12 games. He scored a touchdown in each of his first three games and in five of his 10 contests. He became the first player in Alabama history to record five straight 100-yard receiving games recording 100+ yards against Arkansas, Florida, Duke, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He shattered the previous record of three straight held by Freddie Millons. He tallied seven 100-yard games on the season to give him 10 for his career breaking Ozzie Newsome’s school record of six. The seven games with 100 or more yards also broke Newsome’s record of four in one season. Hall had one of his biggest games at Arkansas with six catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came on a 78-yard grab, the 10th longest passing touchdown in school history and a career long. He followed with a six catch-117 yard performance at Florida. He recorded 10 catches for the third time in his career for 125 yards against Mississippi State. He also had seven rushing yards and 29 kickoff return yards to give him 161 all-purpose yards against the Bulldogs. He caught a team-high seven passes for 124 yards and one touchdown against Duke. He scored on a 39-yard pass on the Crimson Tide’s first possession against Ole Miss and finished with five grabs for 119 yards and one TD. He tallied eight catches for 142 yards at LSU. He recorded his 100th career catch at Tennessee and finished with a team-high seven catches for 102 yards. He scored Alabama’s only touchdown in the SEC opener against Vanderbilt on a 31-yard grab. He finished with four catches for 56 yards against the Commodores. He hauled in a 43-yard touchdown grab against Louisiana Monroe. He broke the single season receiving yards record with a 15-yard catch against Auburn. He also had a career-high two carries for 28 yards, including a 21-yard carry against the Tigers. He also had seven kickoff returns for 139 yards with a long of 26 yards and three runs for 14 yards. He played 580 total snaps with seven games of 50 or more plays. He had a season-high 67 snaps at Florida. He was named the Alabama Offensive Player of the Week following the Ole Miss game and was a special teams captain for the Florida game.
2005 (Sophomore): The Tide’s leading receiver, DJ had 48 receptions for 676 yards, the ninth-best yardage mark in Alabama history. He also had five touchdowns. He is the only receiver in Alabama history to record 10 or more catches in consecutive games. Hall accomplished that feat with 10 catches (139 yards) against Tennessee and then 11 (157 yards, one TD) against Utah State. His 11 catches against Utah State tied for the third-most catches in Bama history and were the most since Quincy Jackson had 11 catches in a 38-31 win over BYU in 1998. His 157 receiving yards against Utah State was a career best and his 48 receptions was tied as the seventh-best single season mark in Alabama history. He made great strides during spring practice, earning the Ray Perkins Most Improved Receiver Award.
2004 (Freshman): After not starting in the season opener, DJ went on to start 10 of the final 11 games, totaling 3458 snaps on the season. He finished with 17 catches for 186 yards and one TD. He had a team-leading five receptions in the Music City Bowl (51 yards). He had three receptions against Utah State and LSU and a TD catch against Auburn. He also had one rush for four yards.
Prep: Choctawhatchee wide receiver DJ Hall was one of three talented Florida wide receivers inked by the Tide. Hall was listed at No. 44 on the Orlando Sentinel Florida Top 100 list. His junior year, Hall had 44 receptions for 974 yards and 13 touchdowns, and despite missing two games with injury as a senior, Hall caught 26 passes for 733 yards and 12 touchdowns. He added three punt returns and one kickoff return for touchdowns as well. He was a three-year All-State selection in basketball.
Personal: DJ is the son of Dianne and Mangano Hall and he has a brother, Magic, and a sister, Monique. Born 7-18-86. He is in pre-major studies.
