The Southeastern Conference has announced that Tide junior Jackie Wilkins has been named this week's SEC Softball Player of the Week.
Wilkins was instrumental in Alabama's doubleheader sweep of Maryland over the weekend, going three for five at the plate with a home run. She scored three runs and drove in two as well as picking up a pair of stolen bases.
The double header against Maryland served as a breakout for Wilkins as her homer was her first since Feb. 13 against Eastern Kentucky. The first game against the Terrapins was also her first multi-hit game since Feb. 28 versus North Texas.
The honor is Wilkins' first ever and the fifth this season for Alabama.

First pitch for the contest will be at approximately 7:30 p.m. The tournament runs from Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16.
