With Brodie Croyle participating sparingly during spring practice, Marc and freshman John Parker Wilson were able to get plenty of repetitions. Marc and John Parker finished spring bracketed at the No. 2 spot on the Tide depth chart at quarterback.
2004 (Sophomore): When Brodie Croyle, the Tide's starting quarterback went down with a season-ending knee injury against Western Carolina, Marc closed the game with 5-of-7 passing for 71 yards and one TD. He started the next week at Arkansas, but hit just 6-of-18 for 57 yards and one interception. The next week against South Carolina, he was 9-of-18 for 63 yards and two interceptions. He sustained a lower back injury in that South Carolina game that kept him out of the lineup against Southern Miss and Tennessee. Although he could have played in the remaining games, he did not see further action. With Croyle and Spencer Pennington limited during spring practice, Guillon got most of the reps during 11-on-11 drills. “He made huge strides,” said Mike Shula. Marc played in 75-of-91 snaps during the spring game, earning the Bart Starr Most Improved Quarterback award following spring practice. 2003 Redshirted Transfer from University of Miami
2002 (Freshman): His last name pronounced “GILL-un”, Marc signed out of high school with Miami and played in two games as a true freshman. He was 3-of-5 passing for 53 yards and one TD before suffering a shoulder injury that ended his season. He had a 39-yard TD toss against Florida A&M in his first college game.
Prep: Considered one of the nation's premier quarterbacks, Mark was rated the nation's No. 48 prospect, regardless of position. As a senior at Mirmonte High School, Marc passed for 2,200 yards, 23 TDs and just seven interceptions his senior season. His team was undefeated as a senior and his junior year he passed for 2,550 yards and 20 TDs. He led Mirmonte to consecutive North Coast Section 2A East Bay titles. Marc also lettered in track, where he ran the hurdles.
Personal: He is the son of Debbie and Doug Guillon. Father Doug played football at Chico State from 1968-72. Born 10-20-83. He is a General Studies major.
