Tide Offensive Tackle Wesley Britt Earns Preseason Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- University of Alabama junior offensive tackle Wesley Britt was recently announced as a player "to watch" on the 2003 Lombardi Award list. He was also selected as a second-team preseason All-America by The Sporting News.
Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen and those defensive players who line up within five yards of the football.
TSN also picked him No. 3 among the SEC's left tackles.
Britt, a 6-8, 312-pounder from Cullman, Ala., earned first-team All-SEC honors last season after playing an incredible 967 snaps. He had 195 knock-down blocks last season, including a career-high 25 against Southern Miss.
He has now started 25 career games.
