NEW ORLEANS - After taking three months off from collegiate competition, the University of Alabama women's golf team returns to the course to start the spring season on Monday and Tuesday at the Tulane Invitational being held at the English Turn Golf & Country Club.
The Crimson Tide joins eight other women's golf programs including fellow Southeastern Conference squads Ole Miss and Mississippi State at the two-day event. The tournament format features 36 holes of play on Monday followed by a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. English Turn is the site of the PGA Tour's HP Classic every April.
Alabama is looking to rebound following a disappointing performance during their fall tournament schedule. Competing for the Tide at the spring opener this week are seniors Jenny Bouvin and Allison Akin, juniors Mandy Tedder and Anna Strandberg and sophomore Darby Sligh.
