Busy Sports Weekend on the University of Alabama Campus

In what is likely the busiest home sports weekend of the year for Crimson Tide athletics program, the University of Alabama hosts gymnastics, men and women's basketball, softball as well as men and women's tennis over the next three days at the Capstone.
The No. 3 ranked Alabama Gymnastics team takes to the floor Friday, taking on the No. 10 ranked LSU Tigers at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum. This will be only the Tide's second home meet in seven weeks of the season, and marks the start of the regular season's second half.
The No. 22 ranked Alabama softball squad hosts three teams this weekend in the Bama Bash. The first game gets underway Friday (Feb. 14) at 11 a.m. when Southern Illinois faces Western Kentucky. The Tide hits the field for the first time when they face Winthrop at 4 p.m. The Tide will play again at 6:30 p.m. against Western Kentucky. The Action will continue through out the weekend and conclude with the championship game on Sunday (Feb. 16) at 1 p.m. Check www.rolltide.com for a complete schedule.
The No. 17 ranked men's tennis team faces a pair of marquee squads this weekend with one match Friday and the other coming Sunday. The Tide faces Ohio State at 6 p.m. Friday and Florida State at 1 p.m. on Sunday. In between those two matches, the women's tennis team will face Houston on Saturday at noon. The Cougars are coached by former Tide assistant Jen Hyde.
The men's basketball team faces Auburn at 7:30 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum while the women's basketball team takes on Florida at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 16).
Admission to the tennis matches is free. Tickets for gymnastics, softball and women's basketball are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum. Tickets for the softball tournament are also available at the stadium, which is located next to the University Recreation Center. The men's basketball game against Auburn is sold out.
