TIDE FACES ONE OF NATION'S BEST
The University of Alabama women's basketball team concludes its string of games versus ranked teams with one of the nation's top squads - No. 4 LSU. The Tide has dropped its last four contests while LSU enters the match-up riding a five-game win streak.
*LSU opened the season with 15 straight wins and were ranked #2 in the country before falling at Arkansas on Jan. 19.
*The Lady Tigers are 11-0 at home this season and have won their last 15 games at the PMAC.
*Alabama has made (154) almost as many three-pointers this season as LSU (180) has attempted... UA senior Beth Vice has as many treys (57) as the entire LSU team.
*The Crimson Tide is one of the SEC's top defensive teams holding opponents to just 37.9% from the floor, but LSU is shooting 50.3% this year.
*LSU is outscoring teams by 10.9 ppg in the 2nd half.
BAMA-LSU SERIES NOTEBOOK
*This is the 36th all-time meeting between the Tide and Lady Tigers. The pair first met in 1977, and have met every season since then. (see p.2 for complete series game results)
*The Crimson Tide trails 16-19 in the all-time series and is just 3-13 in Baton Rouge. UA's last victory on the Bayou was a 67-54 decision on Jan. 29, 1998.
*Alabama's Rick Moody is 13-4 all-time against the Lady Tigers and legendary Hall of Fame coach Sue Gunter. All four of Moody's losses have come in Baton Rouge.
*Prior to Moody's arrival at the Capstone, Alabama had only defeated LSU three times in the pair's first 18 meetings.
*Bama senior center Jamilah Johns began her collegiate career at LSU. Johns played two seasons with the Lady Tigers before transferring to UA.
*In 1999-2000 an unranked Bama squad upset then #7 LSU, 72-68, in Tuscaloosa.
