University of Alabama Statement on NCAA Hearing

CHICAGO, Illinois - "University of Alabama representatives met with the NCAA Infractions Appeals Committee at 8 a.m. today in Chicago. The meeting was held at the Westin Hotel and lasted until noon. We are grateful for the opportunity to discuss our case with the Committee and very much appreciate the attentive manner in which the hearing was conducted.
"Representing The University of Alabama this morning were interim president Dr. J. Barry Mason; outside counsel Robert Cunningham of Cunningham, Bounds, Yance, Crowder and Brown, Rich Hilliard of Ice Miller and Charles Cooper of the Washington D.C. firm of Cooper & Kirk; University counsel Glenn Powell and Stan Murphy; Athletics Director Mal Moore and former University president Dr. Andrew Sorensen.
"Although we cannot predict any outcome, we feel no stone has been left unturned in the presentation of our appeal. We will now wait for the Infractions Appeals Committee to render its decision.
"Early next week, the University will publicly release a redacted copy of our appeal brief."
