2003 Academic All-SEC
As one of two returning starters on the Tide offensive line, Kyle will again hold down the starting right tackle spot. He was a 12-game starter in 2004.
2004 (Sophomore): In a move to help shore-up the Tide's offensive line, Kyle was moved to offensive tackle during spring practice. He went on to start every game on the offensive line, getting 739 snaps on the season. He had a career-high 65 plays in the Kentucky game. After playing nine games as a defensive tackle in 2003. He entered 2004 fall practice as the starting right offensive tackle.
2003 (Freshman): Kyle saw action in nine games, earning his first career starts against Arkansas and Georgia. He played a total of 182 snaps and finished with 14 tackles on the year. He had a career-best six tackles against Arkansas.
2002 Redshirted
Prep: Considered by most experts to be the top defensive tackle prospect in Alabama, Kyle had 95 tackles, 25 stops behind the line, 14 sacks and three fumble recoveries his senior season. He helped Prattville to the state quarterfinals. Kyle was a Tuscaloosa News Sweet Sixteen and Birmingham Post-Herald Super Senior pick. He had 80 tackles, nine sacks and 23 stops behind the line for the Lions as a junior, his first action as a defensive lineman. Kyle was also a Birmingham Post-Herald 10 Most Wanted; Montgomery Advertiser Elite 11; Birmingham News Dandy Dozen and Mobile Press Register Elite 18 selection. He was an All-America pick and rated the No. 13 defensive lineman in America by SuperPrep.
Personal: Kyle is the son of Sue and Ken Tatum and he has an older sister, Kena, and an older brother, Keith. Born 6-10-83. He is a Management major.
