2005 (Senior): Sanders started the first game of the season and then the Cotton Bowl against Texas Tech and in between, played in two other games. He earned his first career start in Bama’s season opener against Middle Tennessee, playing 20 snaps. He’s played 89 total snaps during the season.
2004 (Junior): Mark played in five games, seeing action against Utah State, Western Carolina, Kentucky, Southern Miss and Tennessee. Mark was moved from guard to tackle in the spring, but moved back to the tackle position by season's end.
2003 (Sophomore): Did not see varsity action
2002 (Freshman): Did not see varsity action
Prep: Mark graded out at 88 percent for the season as a junior and he earned All-State honors as an offensive tackle for the Ashville Bulldogs. He was considered one the state's top OL prospects. He was selected All-County, All-Area and All-State as a junior and senior. As a senior, he was chosen CBS Super Prep All-America. His brother Matt was a punter for Bama. Mark chose the Tide over LSU, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Personal: Mark is the son of Teresa and Tom Sanders. His brother, Matt, also played football at Alabama. Born 4-5-83. He is a Financial Planning major.
