Demarcus had an outstanding spring practice and will work behind Juwan Simpson at the will linebacker spot this fall.
2004 (Freshman): Demarcus played in every game, earning a start against Kentuck and 261 snaps on the season. He had 22 tackles, including four behind the line for 20 yards and one sack for 13 yards. He also had one fumble recovery, one forced fumble, one pass break-up and and two quarterback pressures. He had a career-high 10 tackles against South Carolina and a sack for 13 yards against Western Carolina. Demarcus earned the Woodrow Lowe Most Improved Linebacker award following spring practice.
2003 Redshirted
Prep: A four-year starter at Pinson Valley, Demarcus had 157 tackles, 15 sacks and two interceptions as a senior. His junior year, he turned in 142 tackles, nine sacks, 14 stops behind the line and three interceptions to earn All-Metro and All-State honors. He was also a star on the track team, finishing third in the 100-meter dash at the 6A state meet.
Personal: Demarcus is the son of Cheryl and Arthur Waldrop, Jr. Born 5-19-85. He is a Human Environmental Sciences major.
