2006 (Senior): McClain made 12 starts at fullback to give him 18 consecutive starts. He carried the ball 10 times for 53 yards and did not have a negative rush during the season. He also finished tied for third on the team with 19 catches for 166 yards and three touchdowns. He had six games with two or more catches. He caught the game-winning two-yard touchdown pass in overtime against Ole Miss. The play was one of four finalists for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Week. He finished the game with a career-high five catches for 27 yards and one touchdown. He had two catches for 11 yards and one touchdown against Florida International. Against Louisiana Monroe he caught two passes for 30 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown. He recorded his longest career run of 15 yards in the season opener against Hawai’i and finished with a career-high 17 yards. He tallied another 15-yard run against Mississippi State and also had a 19-yard reception. He recorded three catches for 17 yards at Florida. He also had three catches against Duke for 38 yards and three catches against Auburn for 24 yards. He played a total of 616 snaps with a season-high 67 at Arkansas. He played over 50 snaps seven times and had three games of over 60 plays. He also had four tackles on special teams. He was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the games against Vanderbilt and Duke. He was a captain in six games, leading the offense against Arkansas, Tennessee and Auburn and the special teams against Hawai’i, Florida International and LSU.
2005 (Junior): Le’Ron played in every game, getting the starting nod nine times. He collected 39 yards rushing on eight carries while hauling in 18 passes, which ranked fourth on the team, for 140 yards. Both were career highs. McClain found the endzone twice, once on a pass reception against Southern Miss and another on a pass reception against Utah State.
2004 (Sophomore): A prototypical fullback, Le'Ron started the final four games of the season when starting fullback Tim Castille was lost with a knee injury. He played a career-high 59 snaps against Mississippi State and LSU and 52 in the Music City Bowl against Minnesota. Le'Ron scored on the Tide’s first offensive play against Minnesota when he caught a two-yard TD pass from Spencer Pennington. He then scored the Tide’s only other TD on a one-yard run to finish with seven yards rushing and nine yard receiving. He rushed 17 times for 66 yards and two TDs on the season, but he was especially devastating as a blocker. He also caught eight passes for 55 yards and three of TDs. He had a career-best 16 yards rushing against Western Carolina and two receptions for 11 yards and one TD against Mississippi State.
2003 (Freshman): Le'Ron played in 11 games, missing the Northern Illinois and Arkansas contests. He had a start against Kentucky and played a total of 180 snaps. He had one carry for one yard (against Kentucky) and two catches for 35 yards (both against Kentucky) on the season.
Prep: While helping Tuscaloosa County to a 9-4 record, Le'Ron had 1,071 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns on 165 carries. He also had five receptions for 110 yards. He was a Super All-State selection. He was rated the No. 4 prospect in Alabama by BorderWars. As a junior, Le'Ron rushed 135 times for 1,007 yards and 21 TDs. As a starter on defense, he recorded 86 tackles, three sacks and one interception.
