CHICAGO -- University of Alabama women’s golfer Sarah Johnston was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American squad.
Johnston, a senior from Benton, La., garnered her second consecutive honorable mention All-American honor from the national organization. She becomes just the second Crimson Tide linkster to earn All-American accolades twice joining former UA standout Kathryn Cusick.
A four-time All-SEC honoree, Johnston finished her career at Alabama making three appearances at NCAA Regionals. She is the only UA freshman to qualify for NCAA postseason play as an individual. Johnston holds the school records for lowest single round (66) and lowest season stroke average (74.53).
The winner of the women’s Bryant Scholar Athlete award this past season, Johnston is a three-time Academic All-American and Academic All-SEC student-athlete. She also captured her first career tournament title winning the Tide-hosted Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate this past October.
