The Southeastern Conference has announced that Alabama senior defender Missy Keller has been selected to the All-SEC Soccer Team.
Keller, who was named to the second-team, is no stranger to the All-SEC squad being named a second-team performer her sophomore season in 2000.
“I’m pleased for Missy that the coaches around the SEC recognize her talents,” said Alabama Head Coach Don Staley. “This is a well deserved honor and it caps off an outstanding senior season and career.”
2002 was Keller’s most active offensive season as she scored a career high five points off a goal and a career high three assists. She also played a career high 1,757 minutes which helped move her into No. 2 on the school’s all-time minutes played list as well as taking a career high 16 shots.
Keller becomes the first Tide soccer player to garner two All-SEC honors since goalie Rachel Brown picked up her second award in 1999.
Keller and her teammates will now sit and await its fate for the NCAA Tournament. The selection will be made on Sunday, November 10.
