
Alabama Women's Golf Climbs Two Spots at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Crimson Tide women’s golf team climbed two spots on Saturday following a second round 310 at the Landfall Tradition.
Alabama’s solid play on the second day moved the squad into 10th-place heading into final round action on Sunday. The Tide owns a two-day total of 631 and is just two shots out of eighth place.
Bama sophomore Darby Sligh was the team’s low scorer on the day posting a round of 75. Sligh is tied for 21st in the individual competition with a 155 tournament score. Carina Sorensen, who posted the Tide’s low round on the first day, carded a 78 on Saturday and is in a tie for 31st at 157.
Anna Strandberg also shot a 78 in the second round and owns a tournament score of 159 (T-38th). Other golfers competing for the Tide on Saturday included Jenny Bouvin (79) and Allison Akin (81).
First round co-leader Wake Forest maintained a lead in the team competition owning a four-shot advantage over Purdue, 595 – 599. Florida State is in third at 600 with Arizona State (601) and Tulsa (605) rounding out the top five in team play.
Tournament action at the Landfall Tradition concludes with a final round of 18 holes on Sunday.
