Tyus Hooks will enter his first season with the Alabama women's basketball team during the 2026-27 campaign after being named assistant coach and recruiting coordinator by head coach Pauline Love on April 9.

His energy, work ethic and ability to connect with people makes him a perfect fit for the culture we're building here at Alabama."
Oklahoma - Program Coordinator/Assistant Coach (2022-26)
- Spent four seasons at Oklahoma (2022-26), helping the team reach three straight NCAA Tournaments
- Aided in leading the Sooners to four consecutive 20-plus win seasons
- Played a role in developing All-SEC selections Raegan Beers, Peyton Verhulst and Aaliyah ChavezÂ
- Helped in the signing of the nation's top-ranked 2025 recruiting class, highlighted by No. 1 overall prospect and Gatorade National Player of the Year Chavez
- In his first season with the Sooners, assisted OU in a Big 12 regular season title and a second-round NCAA Tournament appearanceÂ
- Helped develop Big 12 Co-Player of the Year Skylar Vann and Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Verhulst
- His recruiting efforts helped land ESPN HoopGurlz top 70 prospects Zya Vann and Caya Smith to the Sooner's 2024 signing class
