Courtney Morgan was head coach Kalen DeBoer's first hire at The University of Alabama, joining the Tide staff as general manager in January of 2024. One of the top minds in college football, Morgan has an impressive background and a long-standing relationship with DeBoer that makes him an essential part of the UA football program.

Alabama - General Manager (2024-Present)

Tasked with managing the Crimson Tide's roster while overseeing and directing the daily operations of both the personnel and recruiting departments
Helps organize the head coach's film evaluations and prospect communication along with all transfer portal information
Also supervises the Tide's internal brand management efforts for football
His work paid off immediately, as Alabama signed the nation's No. 3 overall recruiting class in the 2025 cycle and added 10 total players through the portal
Under his direction, the Crimson Tide retained 38 letterwinners, including 14 starters, from the 2024 team, Morgan's first full offseason since coming to Tuscaloosa

Washington - Director of Player Personnel/General Manager (2022-23)

Spent two seasons at Washington in a dual personnel and general manager position under DeBoer
Played an instrumental role in helping the Huskies transform from a 4-8 squad prior to DeBoer's arrival to a CFP National Championship Game appearance just two years later
Washington compiled a 25-3 record and claimed a Pac-12 title over the two-year span
Assisted in securing a top-30 recruiting class in 2023 and added key contributors through the transfer portal across both his seasons in Seattle

Michigan - General Manager (2021)

Served as the general manager for his alma mater
Helped the Wolverines to a berth in the 2021 College Football Playoff

Fresno State - General Manager (2020)

Held the title of general manager under DeBoer at Fresno
Named the No. 3 recruiter in the Mountain West by 247Sports for the class of 2021

San Jose State - Player Personnel (2019)

Restarted his work in the collegiate ranks with a one-year stint with the Spartans

Private Sector - Branding and Athlete Representation (2014-18)

Co-founded Pure Influence Group, connecting professional athletes, businesses and entertainers with opportunities to increase brand awareness, community imprint and revenue
Previously worked at Vanguard Sports Group as the director of client development, overseeing contract negotiations, marketing, public relations, endorsements, brand strategy, philanthropy and overall management efforts for pro athletes

UCLA - Director of Player Development (2013-14)

Oversaw the personal development programming for student-athletes across his two years in Los Angeles

Playing Career

Three-year letterman at Michigan, appearing in 28 games and starting 11 across five seasons
Played all five offensive line positions and was a member of two Big Ten title teams in both 2000 and 2003
Graduated from Michigan in 2003 with a degree in sports management and communications
