Megan Ailshie came to Alabama after serving as head coach from 2016-2018 at Dobyns-Bennett High School, her alma mater, where she led the team to a third-place finish at the Tennessee state tournament in 2018.
Ailshie, formerly Megan Devine, played for her mother, current Alabama head coach Lindsey Devine at East Tennessee State University. After her playing career, she served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at ETSU in 2015. At the club level, she has spent the last seven years as the head coach of for Kingsport Volleyball Club in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Devine is one of the most decorated players in ETSU volleyball history. The Kingsport, Tennessee native was a three-time First Team All-Atlantic Sun honoree as well as a two-time conference Player of the Year. Devine set multiple Atlantic Sun records, including double-doubles in a season (25), in a conference season (15), most attack attempts in a season (1,586), in conference play (839) and career kills (1940).
Devine also set multiple program records at ETSU including attack attempts (5,650), kills (1,940) and the top two single-season kills-per-game marks (4.49 in 2013 and 4.16 in 2011).
In addition to leading the Bucs to their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and conference championship in 2013, Devine was also named AVCA All-Region in 2012 and 2013, and was an AVCA Division-1 All-American in 2012.
Off the court, Devine was a four-time A-Sun All-Academic honoree, graduating in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. After graduation, she played professionally in Sweden with Hylte VBK where her team finished second in the Swedish League. She received her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Union College in 2016.
