Ben Boldt is in his second season with the Tide and brings energy and passion to the gym. In his first season, Boldt helped the Tide earn its third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, and the third in the program[apos]s history.
He came to Alabama after serving five years as a member of the University of Nebraska volleyball staff.
Working under Husker head coach Jon Cook, Boldt was a part of one of the most successful programs in recent NCAA history. Boldt capped off his career in Lincoln by helping Nebraska earn its third NCAA Championship, as the Cornhuskers finished 33-1 with a championship game victory over Stanford in in 2006.
Boldt joined the Alabama staff prior to the 2007 spring season. While at Nebraska, Bolt spent time coaching with USA volleyball at various levels. Boldt served as a USA Youth National team coach in 2005 and 2006 after spending time with the A2 squad in 2004.
In addition to college and national team experience, Boldt is also an accomplished coach at the club level. Boldt was a head coach for the Challenger Volleyball Club from 2000-04 before serving as a head coach for the prestigious Nebraska Juniors in Lincoln, Neb., in 2005-06.
A native of Hickman, Neb., Boldt graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 2005 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in Exercise Science.
