Flanagan joined the University of Alabama women's crew program in the fall of 2017 as a volunteer coach and currently serves as the Graduate Assistant coach, while pursuing her master's in Human Performance, Sports Management.
Upon graduating from the Capstone in December 2017, Flanagan coached the varsity women and novice men's crew at Massachusetts Maritime Academy (DIII) for the 2018 spring season. She then spent her summer coaching with the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) men's team, where they saw successful finishes at the Independence Day Regatta, Club Nationals and Canadian Henley.
Flanagan's rowing experience began at the Narragansett Boat Club. Her high school career included four appearances at the Head of the Charles and she captained her team to a top-4 finish in the Grand Finale at the 2012 NEIRA Championships.
Flanagan rowed at Fairfield University from 2012-2015 where she earned MAACÂ Conference gold in the Varsity 8+ and gold in the Frosh 4+ at the 2013 Dad Vail Regatta and Knecht Cup.
