Returns to Alabama coaching staff after being an assistant coach under head coach Tommy Wade in 1987 and 1988 ... registered 436 wins as a head coach at the collegiate level ... from 2007-14 he served as the head coach for the men's and women's tennis programs at the University of West Alabama ... compiled 253 wins with both programs in that seven year span ... under his guidance the men's teams made the NCAA Regionals five times (2009-10, 2012-14) ... the men's team finished second twice in the Gulf South Conference in 2012 & 2013, which are the best finishes in UWA school history ... finished with team rankings of No. 9, No. 27, No. 37, and No. 47 in 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2010, respectively ... the men's program at UWA produced five All-GSC and seven All-GSC Academic players ... in 2014, Nestor Vargas became the first tennis play in UWA tennis history with All-America honors ... under his leadership the women's program produced 10 All-GSC Academic players ... from 1999-2002 he served as the head coach at Samford University for the men's and women's tennis programs, where he compiled 62 wins combined with both programs ... from 1996-1999 he served as the head coach at Wallace State College for the men's and women's tennis programs ... he compiled 121 wins and combined between both programs (71-27 men, 50-13 women) ... in 1999 he set team records, as the men registered a 24-1 record (only loss to The University of Alabama), while compiling a 25-0 record for the women's team ... in 1999, 1998 and 1997 the team finished men's team finished with a Junior College ITA national ranking of No. 4, No. 12 and No. 18, respectively ... the men's program produced two All-American under his management ... in 1999 the women's team captured a NJCAA National Championship ... the women's program produced two All-Americans in 1998, and in 1999 he had six All-Americans on the program ... personal accolades include USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, Level One ... he also earned USTA High Performance Coach ... collected the USPTA President in Alabama six times and one year in Kentucky ... served as a USPTA board member for seven years ... was awarded with USPTA & USTA Professional of the Year five times ... earned the NJCAA National Coach of the Year in 1999 ... in 1999 he earned the AJCAA Conference Coach of the Year ... member of the United States Air Force from 1981-86 ... received a bachelor in Education from the University of Kentucky in 1979
