James Kane is in his second season as Alabama's video coordinator and fourth in the same capacity on Anthony Grant's staff.
Kane followed Grant to Tuscaloosa after his video and scouting efforts at VCU helped the Rams to back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association championships.
Prior to being promoted to video coordinator, he spent the 2006-07 season as a graduate assistant at VCU where he aided the program to its first of three straight CAA titles as well as an upset win over Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Kane also spent a season honing his craft professionally as a basketball operations and scouting analysis intern for the Charlotte Bobcats duringthe 2005-06 season.

A Florida native, Kane attended the University of Florida on an academic scholarship and graduated as a merit scholar with a degree in sport management and minor in business administration. He also played on the Gators' scout team under Grant, then an assistant at Florida. While at VCU, he earned a master's degree in sport management from VCU's prestigious Center for Sport Leadership.
