Clarke Holter is in his second season as the athletic trainer for the men’s basketball team.
Holter came to Alabama after spending six years at Ole Miss, where he served as the men’s basketball athletic trainer. During his time in Oxford, Miss., Holter was a key cog in helping the Rebels to the 2013 Southeastern Conference Tournament title, as well as a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances (2013 and 2015).
Prior to his arrival at Ole Miss, he served as an intern athletic trainer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from May, 2008-May, 2009.
Holter graduated from West Virginia University in 2006 with a degree in athletic training. During his time at WVU, he worked with the Mountaineer’s men’s basketball, baseball, rowing, football and women’s soccer teams. In addition, he spent some time at the Healthworks Rehab & Fitness Clinic.
In 2005, he received the John C. Spiker Athletic Training Scholarship through the WVU school of education. He also completed an internship with the Miami Dolphins working through preseason and all of training camps, for the 2005 season.
Following graduation from WVU, he attended James Madison University where he obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2008. During his time with the Dukes, he worked with the baseball, men’s and women’s golf teams. In the summer of 2007, he completed an internship with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at their complex in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Holter is a board certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and has certifications in CPR/AED and serves as a CPR instructor. In addition he has obtained his Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. The Culpeper, Va. native is married to the former Liz Robertson, who was a four-year letterwinner for the Ole Miss women’s basketball team from 2007-10. The couple has a daughter, Charleigh, who was born in January, 2016, and their second child is due in January, 2017.
