Christian Pino is going into his seventh season with the Alabama basketball program. After spending his first two years as a graduate manager, Pino was promoted to the director of player development and recruiting coordinator in July of 2021, following the Tide's SEC Championship and NCAA Tournament run. Throughout Pino's six years at The Capstone, Alabama has won a pair of SEC Regular Season championships and SEC Tournament titles while making the program's first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance in addition to a trio of Sweet 16 appearances.
Alabama - Director of Player Development (2021-Present)
- Primarily responsible for helping with skill development, as well as assisting with practice plans and game charts
- Also has recruited off campus in 2023 and spring of 2024
- Maintains the program's recruiting database and presentations, while also assisting the coaching staff with opponent's scouts
- Assisted on the defensive side from the 2019-2023 season assisting assistant coaches Bryan Hodgson & Charlie Henry with opponents' personnel & scouting finishing No. 3 in the nation in defensive efficiency in two of the four years
- Served on the offensive side of the ball in 2023-2024 season assisting head coach Nate Oats along with coaches Ryan Pannone and Adam Bauman in advance scouting opponents and game preparation finishing No. 2 in the nation in offensive efficiency
Alabama - Graduate Assistant (2019-21)
- Instrumental in the skill development of Herb Jones, Josh Primo and Jaden Shackleford
- Was assigned to the "Bigs" positional group in practice assisting with former assistant coach and current head coach of Arkansas State, Bryan Hodgson
Seaholm High School - Assistant Coach (2018-19)
- Ran and planned practice, skill development and video breakdown with the team.
Playing Career
- Completed his final three seasons (2014-17) of eligibility with the Bulls' program and was a part of back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths as well as the program's first-ever MAC tournament championship in 2015 and 2016
- Played one season at Arizona State (2013-14) under then-head coach Herb Sendek
- Pino played for Oats at Romulus High School, helping lead the Eagles to a 27-1 overall record and the Michigan Class A state championship in 2013
