2011 SEASON RECAP: Earned the spot as the Tide's primary second baseman following the injury to Jon Kelton ... played in 46 games, starting 31 times ... hit .181 for the season with eight runs and three RBI while walking eight times and stealing one base ... started 15 of the 20 SEC games he played in ... hit .235 during league play knocking in two RBI and scoring seven runs.
SENIOR (2011): Tallahassee Regional: Went 2-for-10 with one RBI in the        four games. SEC Tournament: Started all three game of the SEC Tournament        at second base ... went 1-for-9 in the tournament. South Carolina: Started        all three games, going 0-for-7 with one walk against SC. Auburn: Went        3-for-11 with three RBI for the weekend. LSU: Went 1-for-12 with one run        and RBI in his three starts for the weekend. Mississippi State: Started        all three games at second base ... went 3-for-10 with three runs and one RBI while walking        once as well ... also stole his first base of the season in game two of Saturday's        doubleheader ... exploded at the dish in game one of the twinbill, going 2-for-4 with two        runs and one RBI while walking once. Southern Mississippi: Started the        game at second base, going 0-for-4 at the plate. Florida: Started all        three games at second base ... went 4-for-9 in his first SEC weekend series as a starter.        Samford: Got the start at second base ... went 0-for-3 at the dish. MVSU:        Appeared in both midweek games, the first as a pinch hitter and the second as a defensive        replacement ... went 1-for-2 in the two games. Vanderbilt: Came in as a        defensive replacement in game three (4/10) ... did not see an appearance at the plate.        Samford: Got the start at second base ... went 0-for-2 on the night.        USA: Came in as a defensive replacement in the top of the ninth.        Kentucky: Made one appearance in game two as a pinch runner and stayed in        the game at second base ... went 0-for-1 at the dish in his lone at-bat.          SOPHOMORE (2008 - Jacksonville State): Played in 33 games and made 27        starts in his second year with the Gamecocks ... started 26 games at shortstop and one at        second base ... batted .269 (25-for-93) with five doubles, 11 RBI and 16 runs scored ...        ranked third on team with 78 assists and was second with 15 double plays during his 27        starts at shortstop ... posted six multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games ... best game        of the season came against Troy, where he went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI        in a 14-6 win on April 15 ... went 2-for-4 with two RBI against Alabama State on April 30        ... went 2-for-3 with three RBI against UAB on May 7 ... went 3-for-5 and scored two runs        against Tennessee Tech on May 10.
        
         FRESHMAN (2007 - Jacksonville State): Played in 58 games and earned 57        starts for the Gamecocks ... hit .274 (46-for-168) with five doubles, 23 RBI and 32 runs        scored ... all 57 starts came at shortstop, where he led the team with 177 assists and        ranked second with 28 double plays ... ranked fifth on team with 15 multi-hit games and        added five multi-RBI games ... made collegiate debut and first career start at shortstop        against Middle Tennessee on Feb. 18 ... recorded first career hit against High Point on        March 3 ... went 2-for-5 with season-high four RBI in win over Big 10 foe Illinois on March        17 ... went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in the win over Northwestern on March        19 ... went 3-for-5 and scored two runs against Morehead State on April 29 ... recorded        four straight multi-hit games against Tennessee Tech, Georgia Southern and Tennessee Martin        from May 5-12 ... best game of season came against UT Martin, where he went 4-for-5 with        one run scored and two RBI ... batted .250 (3-for-12) with three runs scored and three RBI        in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament ... went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two        RBI in first-round win over Southeast Missouri State on May 24.
        
         HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery        ... three-year starter for coach Bart Britton ... won the Paul Bryant-Ralph Jordan        Scholar-Athlete of the Year from the Alabama High School Athletic Association in 2006.
PERSONAL: Full name is Josh Reimann Sanders ... son of Terry and Marianne Sanders ... has one brother, Carl ... his father, Terry, was a place-kicker for the Crimson Tide from 1981-84 under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and Ray Perkins ... handled kickoffs, extra points and field goals and punted during his four-year career ... member of 1981 team that landed his Bryant his 315th career coaching win...was college roommate of UA strength and conditioning coach, Rocky Colburn ... his brother, Carl, plays football at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
