Promotional Appearance Request Guidelines
The University of Alabama Department of Intercollegiate Athletics receives numerous requests for appearances each year. While we would like to fill each request, the high demand, coupled with NCAA regulations, prevents that from occurring. In an effort to support as many institutions as possible, the guidelines below have been implemented. Please note that submission of a request, even if all guidelines are met, does not guarantee the request will be filled.
Guidelines
- An Institutional Appearance Request Form must be submitted for all appearance requests.
- Once the Appearance Request Form has been completed and submitted, please allow four (4) weeks for review. You will be notified via email whether your request has been approved or denied. Please no follow-up emails or telephone calls.
- Alabama will not approve any requests that:
- Are outside of a 30-mile radius from the university
- Will be recorded and used at the requestor's convenience
- The specific activity or project in which the student-athlete participates may not involve co-sponsorship, advertisement or promotion by a commercial agency other than through the reproduction of the company's official logo or trademark. (i.e. posters, pictures or calendars).
- Requests that occur during a break (i.e. fall break, winter break, etc.) and are held in the student-athlete's hometown will be considered for review.
- Alabama reserves the right to deny any request held within the first two or last two weeks of a semester.
- All student-athletes must participate in the event in some capacity (i.e. working a booth or registration table). They may not be there solely to take photos and sign autographs.
- The name or picture of the student-athlete may not appear on any printed promotional items (i.e. poster, calendar, etc.).
- Student-athletes may not miss any academic or athletic obligations to attend the event.
- Any funds raised at event must go directly to the member institution, member conference or a charitable, educational or nonprofit agency.
