Four Alabama Baseball Student-Athletes Earn College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team for baseball, the CSC announced Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide's four honorees include Zane Adams, Tyler Fay, Brennan Holt and Luke Vaughn. The foursome is part of a total of 24 baseball players that have earned a combined 32 all-district accolades in Alabama history. With their selection, UA has had least one all-district honoree in each of the last seven seasons dating back to 2020. Prior to the current stretch, Alabama had not had an Academic All-District Team member since 2011.
In total, Alabama has earned 10 Academic All-America honors since 1972, including first-team honorees Dr. Jeff Laubenthal (1993), Lance Cormier (2002) and Emeel Salem (2006, 07). The most recent Academic All-America selection for the Tide was Owen Diodati when he was named as a third-teamer in 2022.
The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III along with NAIA.
Zane Adams
Academic All-District
- Advancing towards a degree in sport management
- Garnered Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season
- Owns a 3.86 grade-point average in three seasons at Alabama
- Highlighted as an SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll selection in 2025
- Named to SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2023-24
- Two-time President's List honoree
- Four-time Dean's List selection
Tyler Fay
Academic All-District
- A marketing major that graduated magna cum laude in May with a BS in Commerce Business Administration
- Maintained a 3.77 grade-point average across four academic years at Alabama
- Awarded CSC Academic All-District honors for the third consecutive season
- Secured SEC Academic Honor Roll distinction each of the last two seasons (2024-25)
- A five-time Dean's List selection
- Placed on the President's List for one semester
Brennan Holt
Academic All-District
- Graduated from the Sport Management Graduate Program in May with an MS in Human Environmental Sciences
- Held a 3.60 graduate GPA during his two semesters in Tuscaloosa
- His Academic All-District distinction is the first of his collegiate career
- Produced a 3.75 GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major, graduating magna cum laude in May of 2025 with a BA in College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of South Alabama
Luke Vaughn
Academic All-District
- Managed a 3.64 GPA through three seasons at the Capstone as a Criminology & Criminal Justice major
- The 2025-26 season marks his first Academic All-District recognition
- Named to SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2025
- Also chosen to SEC First Year Spring Academic Honor Roll (2023-24)
