The Crimson Tide made a conference-play high 17 threes in the win
OXFORD, Miss. – The RV/RV Alabama men's basketball team erased a slow start to come back and defeat Ole Miss, 93-74, Wednesday night inside the SBJ Pavilion. The Crimson Tide scored just 32 points and shot 25 percent (8-of-32) from the field in the first half before erupting for 61 points in the second stanza to pick up its third consecutive win.Â
Alabama (16-7, 6-4 SEC) was led by Latrell Wrightsell Jr.'s 21 points on seven made three-point baskets, tying his career high. Wrightsell led five Crimson Tide players in double digits as Labaron Phlion Jr (18), Aiden Sherrell (15), Amari Allen (13) and Aden Holloway (12) also finished in double figures.Â

Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame CommentsÂ
"I thought Ole Miss came into the game ready to go. Defensively, they did a great job on us early in the game and we did not get a good flow on offense for the first 10-12 minutes of the first half. Our defense was good enough to keep us in striking distance and their lead never got above nine so credit to them.
"We started the second half well, obviously we have had issues with starts but I thought as the ball moved quicker and better, shots went in more. Defensively, Coach (Brian) Adams, who runs our defense, did a great job adjusting, cross-matching and switching some stuff to take away lobs they were getting out of timeouts. Our guys did a good job adjusting on the fly and learning how to guard what they were seeing.
"I'm super proud of (Latrell) Wrightsell. When we got the news Charles (Bediako) wouldn't be able to play, we understood we would have to go small at the four spot and not have as much interior depth. One of the smaller guards was going to have to be removed from the starting lineup and he stepped up and was willing to do it so the team would have a better chance of winning. I've always had the thought that when you do things like that, you get rewarded, and he got rewarded in a big way, leading us in scoring and going 7-of-13 from three."
