
Doris Lemngole Named USTFCCCA Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Lemngole is the first female student-athlete to win in consecutive years since UA’s Mercy Chelangat achieved the feat in 2020 and 2021
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second straight year, Alabama cross country's Doris Lemngole was named the Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced Thursday.
The program ace is the first female athlete to win the award in back-to-back years since the Crimson Tide's Mercy Chelangat earned the honor in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Doris Lemngole – 2025 USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year
- Two-time USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country National Scholar-Athlete of the Year honoree (2024, 2025)
- Maintained a 3.90 grade point average, majoring in sport management
- Listed on both the Dean's List and President's twice
- Swept all three SEC Scholar-Athlete awards during the 2024-25 athletics season (cross country, indoor track, outdoor track)
- Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree
- Defended her individual Southeastern Conference title and national title during the 2025 cross country season
