
Volleyball Falls to Auburn in Three Sets in Friday’s SEC Opener

AUBURN, Ala. – Alabama volleyball fell in its SEC opener Friday night on the road to Auburn in three sets by scores of 19-25, 21-25 and 19-25.
Alabama (8-3, 0-1 SEC) took the early 8-5 lead in set one before Auburn (10-2, 1-0 SEC) pulled ahead after an 8-1 run to make it 13-9. The Tigers held on to win set one, 25-19, and held the same six-point margin towards the end of set two before the Crimson Tide started to chip away, drawing as close as two points before Auburn called a timeout at 21-19. The Tigers closed out the second with a 4-2 run to win 25-21 and take a 2-0 match lead. Alabama had the early momentum in the third set but Auburn moved back ahead around the halfway mark with a 7-2 run to pull ahead 17-12. That proved enough cushion for the Tigers to hold on and win, 25-19, to complete the match.

- Victoria Barrett tallied her third double-double of the season with 15 kills and 12 digs while Hannah Parant earned her fifth with 15 assists and 12 digs
